Alpacas for Sale, Peruvians, Colors, Black

The Imaginary Farm is proud to offer these alpacas for sale.  For more information, contact us:  bonnieferrelldds@qwest.net

Bred Female Alpacas for Sale
These are mature female alpacas that have been bred in accordance with the goals of The Imaginary Farm.  I strive to enhance color, fiber quality, and overall conformation my alpaca herd.  Since alpacas have been referred to as "the huggable investment", I also choose animals of desirable temperament and work with them to enhance their manageability.

Herdsire and Future Herdsires for Sale
These male alpacas show promise for breeding because they  possess desirable qualities in fiber and conformation.  It is often difficult to assess the full possibility of a herdsire until he is fully grown.  Lineage is important.  Appearance of the animal is important, too.

Pet and Fiber Quality Alpacas for Sale
Not all alpacas should be part of a breeding program.  All alpacas  have attributes that are valuable.  Children love the opportunity to have a pet alpaca and may derive hours of pleasure preparing an alpaca for performance in an obstacle course or show.  Fiber artists welcome the chance to work with premium fiber.  The astute homeowner may realize the tax advantages of owning alpacas.  Just remember, like potato chips, you cannot have just one.

Bred Female Alpacas for Sale

Stella:

ARI #816675:  DOB: 5/30/1998.  Dam:  AOCR Roo's Brown-Eyed Girl, Sire: Tesoro de Bueno. Color: Bay black.

Histogram: 21.6u, SD 4.7, CV 21.7%, 5.9%>30u. -- 8/01 @ 2 yrs.

Stella was the first offspring born for The Imaginary Farm. She is a lovely black girl with fleece that is very soft, nice handle, and a consistent medium crimp. Stella has a curious and sweet personality. In September, she delivered a beautiful true black boy out of our grey herdsire He’s a Star. We have breed her back to Star and she has A DUE DATE IN OCTOBER, 2003.

Brownie is pictured here with her cria, Monroe.

Monroe (left) and Lucille,
both out of Brownie & Silver Charm

Roo’s Brown-Eyed Girl
(aka: “Brownie”)

ARI#: 167427, DOB: 06/13/1996, Dam: ACR Legger’s Roo Girl, Sire: NWA, Ltd Ike.  Color: Bay black.

Histogram: 25.9u, SD 4.9, CV 19.0%, 15.6%>30u -- 2/02 @ 6 yrs.

Brownie is a well conformed bay black female with very soft fine fleece. She is a 4 time proven mother, and with her last two crias, I feel we hit the jackpot. The herdsire, Silver Charm, has proven to be Brownie's perfect match as the sire of her last two crias, both tuxedo silver grays:

In September 2001, Monroe, was born. He is a medium silver grey, dense and soft, soft, soft little guy, with big strong bone structure, and great conformation. He took 1st Place in his halter class at the Great Western Alpaca Show 2003.

Brownie was rebred to Silver Charm in hopes of duplicating this fine match. Lucille was born in October 2002. She is a completely uniform light silver grey with bright, crimpy and very dense fleece (1st Place, Halter Great Western 2003).

Brownie took 3rd place in Produce of Dam at the 2003 Great Western represented by these two blue ribbon charmers! Brownie has once again been rebred to Silver Charm. This is an incredible opportunity to add a strong black/grey color dam to your breeding program, and possibly get a grey addition to your herd.

Tenango: ARI #: 816676. DOB 11/15/1999. Dam: Aussie’s Halo, Sire: Peruvian Olympus. Bay black. Here is the chance to bring color as well as fiber softness and handle to your breeding program. His fleece placed second (His Olympus half brother took the blue!) at Estes Park 2001 and first at ABR Fall Festival 2001. Tenango’s grandsires include Peruvian Drambuie and Peruvian Leon. This boy bred his first female on the second try!

Triumph

ARI #: TBA. DOB 6/25/2002 Dam: Aussie’s Halo, Sire: Rialto. Color: medium fawn.

Awards: 2nd place, halter, at the Great Western Alpaca Show 2003

Triumph is undoubtedly our best cria yet. He has unbelievable crimp and brightness in his soft fleece, and he is completely uniform in color. Perfect conformation. We have high hopes for this little guy in the show ring and as a herdsire. He placed a close second in halter at the 2003 Great Western.

Pet Quality & Fiber Quality Alpacas for Sale

Pet Quality and Fiber Quality Alpacas (non-breeders). Not all alpacas are born with the exact attributes we are trying to develop in our herd. Some animals may have great fiber but do not have the body structure we would like to see. Some animals might not have as crimpy or soft fleece as we might desire. It is generally believed that offspring can be improved by up-breeding a female to improve fiber and conformational characteristics.  And sometimes, there is an over abundance of boys. Every breeder will have some animals that do not satisfy the goals of the breeding program, and will release those animals for sale as pets or fiber animals. Alpacas make great pets and 4-H projects.  Weavers and spinners welcome the opportunity to work with premium fiber and not participate in breeding activities.  Some alpaca owners may see potential value in young animals, overlooked by the breeder.  These alpacas are priced competitively because their future use as breeding stock is perceived to be limited.  No fertility guarantees are made for pet and fiber animals.

Fast Eddie

ARI #: 822823. DOB 7/16/1999 Color: Medium Brown. Dam: 5Peruvian Puca Pucara. Sire: CPI Peruvian Jaxon.

Histogram: 20.2u, SD 4.6, CV 22.5%, 2.7%>30u -- 2/02 @ 2 1/2 yrs.

Eddie is from one of the finest and most in-demand studs in the country.  Rich color, extraordinary fine handle on his fleece.  This young male has great color with a full Peruvian lineage. Unfortunately, not reproductive, he is a fleece or pet animal. Eddie has excellent fleece coverage down to his toes, that’s very soft with a great handle, density and crimp. He received a third place ribbon in halter competition at Estes Park 2001 Wool Fest and again in Phoenix 2002.

Johnny B Good

ARI #: 822825
DOB 7/10/2000
Color: White
Dam: Pperuvian Angelicia
Sire Peruvian Courvoisier

Histogram: 19u, SD 4.9, CV 25.9%, 3.4%>30u -- 2/02 @ 1 1/2 yrs.

What a soft and brilliantly lustrous fleece on this boy! If fiber is your game, this boy is for you! The Drambuie line consistently produces show ring winners, however Johnny is a smaller animal, and his show ring potential is limited.
